I found yoga over 20 years ago and practiced it on and off until a running injury brought me to the mat full time. It was then I discovered that yoga was more than physical asana; it was also a path to help me slow down and reconnect with myself and others.
In 2018, I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) with Coral Brown at All That Matters and have been sharing my practice with others ever since.
The first Yama—Ahimsa—to do no harm, guides my yoga teaching. I strive to create safe and welcoming vinyasa classes, suitable for students of all levels and abilities.
Off the mat, I am an English Professor at the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport where I teach reluctant students the finer points of college composition.
Joan will be teaching:
Tuesdays: 5:30PM-6:30PM -- All Levels Vinyasa
Class Description:
In this class we will link breath and movement as we flow through a sequence of thoughtfully designed postures. During this moving meditation we will focus on building strength and flexibility as well as cultivating mind-body awareness. Everybody is welcome!

Yoga showed up at the outset of my recovery process 37 years ago - it stuck. It was a gateway for me to look at life with a very different perspective, one that was inclusive, non judgmental and freeing. Kripalu from the later 80’s gave me a path, one that awakened a longing in me to be a good human. Lots of asana, ashtanga & then ashtanga Vinyasa for years, however, relationships, art making and glassblowing occupied my time so fully, my practice was living, learning, and bumping into lots of blind spots. The dismantling of my business asked me to look at myself as more than what i could do or did do, Yoga and now meditation came in full bore.
I studied for quite a while with Sarah & Ty Powers - Sarah’s skill and wisdom, & Ty’s kindness pointed me toward my own. Good fortune has followed me since. I met my current teachers through the early years of the IYI program. First John Welwood blessed my world view with compassion & presence, Gregory Kramer laid out a practice and approach to our relational existence that informs my every cell, and now my root teacher Jennifer Welwood holds an exquisite container for awakening, for loving & living as a way to be of benefit for all the life that i feel blessed to be a part of. I am dedicated to my personal practice, and new ways to share & spark that devotion in others keep appearing.
Jenn will be teaching:
Wednesdays: 11:30AM-12:30PM -- Yin Yoga
Class Description:
Yin yoga with Jenn Thomas is one-of-a-kind. The practice of yin itself is slow and steady, consisting of simple shapes (poses) held for extended time. By holding the poses, you nourish the body’s connective tissue system, liberate old + long held tensions, and enjoy quiet inner space. Other benefits of yin include: improved flexibility, enhanced awareness, reduced stress and anxiety, improved circulation, enhanced mental clarity, and improved sleep. All levels are welcome.

Hi my name is Katie! I hold my 200 hr. certification from Wild Wisdom Yoga and I have also completed the Karma Kids teacher training. I am a certified nutritional therapy practitioner as well as a third grade teacher. I started yoga years ago to do something for me and to help balance my athletic life with my body awareness. I grew up a national level swimmer and now do any and all exercise! Yoga has been a great tool to help me learn more about body awareness and what serves my mind and body and I love to help others find this awareness.
Katie will be teaching:
Thursdays: 6:15AM-7:00AM -- Rise & Reset
Class Description:
Wake up and start your morning finding strength and balance in your body. This class will combine a vinyasa based class with a sprinkle of some extra core work. We will dive into sensation as well as lengthen and strengthen the body and mind. This class will be focused on certain openings rather than peak poses.

I’m originally from Louisville Kentucky where I taught high school English for ten years. About halfway through my teaching tenure, I discovered yoga as a way to take care of myself and manage my stress. Over the past 17 years, yoga has continued to serve my wellbeing and has become a vital part of my mental, emotional, physical & spiritual journey. I decided I wanted to bring my two passions together: yoga and teaching, and completed my yoga, mindfulness meditation & social-emotional learning (SEL) wellness facilitator training with Breathe for Change. I look forward to sharing these practices with my students at College Unbound and throughout our communities.
Aubrey will be teaching:
Thursdays: 5:30PM-6:30PM -- Mindful Movement ONLINE ONLY
Class Description:
Come unwind from the week with a slow paced Vinyasa-style flow class. We will focus on slowing down our minds and bodies as we stretch, breathe, move and meditate. All yoga & ability levels are welcome as students will be encouraged to listen to what their bodies need and to modify poses accordingly. I look forward to practicing mindfully and intentionally with each of you. ❤️ ✨

Hi, I’m Kerrie-Ann Lynch — a longtime yoga teacher and a brand-new pickleball enthusiast! After picking up pickleball this summer, I quickly discovered how beautifully yoga supports the sport’s demands — quick side-to-side movement, overhead smashes, deep bends, twists, and intense concentration.
For years, I’ve taught yoga throughout Rhode Island’s East Bay — in nursing homes, hospitals, and community settings — helping people of all ages strengthen, stretch, and find ease in movement. I completed my Yoga Teacher Training in 2006 at Inner Light Center for Yoga in Middletown, RI, where I studied a gentle, Hatha-style, all-levels accessible approach that welcomes everyone.
Now, as a beginner pickleball player myself (you can find me at Ocean State Pickleball on Saturdays and Tuesday nights), I see a wonderful opportunity to blend these two practices. Yoga builds the strength, flexibility, and balance that pickleball players need for quick pivots, wide reaches, and faster recovery — keeping the body resilient and the mind calm.
Kerrie will be teaching:
Saturdays: 7:30AM-8:30AM -- Yoga for Pickleball
Class Description:
In this class, Kerrie-Ann will guide you through a well-balanced practice that will gradually warmup your body and focus your mind before building into more strength poses (asanas) and gentle, in-place dynamic movements. While this class will be predominantly targeting pickleball players, any and all levels of yoga ability and recreational athletes are welcome. Benefit from getting your blood flowing in the morning; improving overall strength, flexibility, mobility, balance, and agility; and enhancing your sense of well-being. Leave feeling ready to hit the court, golf course, or simply ready to embrace your day! Let’s come together to move better, recover faster, and play longer — both on and off the court. All you need is a mat, an open mind, and your love for the game.

Tia began her yoga journey in 2014 when she moved to San Diego after college. She completed her 200 HR RYT in Nicaragua in July 2024, during which she found her thirst for knowledge and a deeper understanding of the practice ignited. She has completed an additional 20 HR Yin training as well as a 50 HR Pranayama apprenticeship. She has a passion for bringing these offerings to festivals, curating a container and holding space for these communities. Recently having moved back the East coast, she is excited to continue her teaching journey here in Rhode Island.
Tia’s style is influenced by the way she moves through life and her desire to move freely with an open heart. She believes being authentically herself leads to a never ceasing urge to connect and understand others and aims to provide a space for her community to step into their authentic light.
Tia will be teaching:
Tuesdays: 7:30AM-8:30AM -- Slow Flow Vinyasa
Yin/Meditation Pop-Up Events so stay tuned!!
Class Descriptions:
Slow Flow Vinyasa - Join me as we flow, synchronizing breath to movement, allowing the body to move slowly and intentionally. We will focus on alignment, with special attention to modifications and adjustments to allow for all participation levels. We will gently warm the body, inviting in subtle movement before activating and engaging, finding our edge. Dedicated time will be set aside at the conclusion of practice for shavasana, to embrace the importance of stillness and time for internal gaze and meditation.

I started dabbling with yoga back in 2004 on DVDs, and between 2010-2012, I ventured into heated power yoga and Bikram Yoga while in grad school. During that time, I didn't treat yoga as a way to slow down and take care of my body (and mind), but rather, as a means to an end -- whether that was to open up my tight hips so I could train harder and run faster or to try and look a certain way. It wasn't until a few years later that I discovered a style of yoga that really resonated with me, and in 2018, I completed my 200-hour Pranotthan Yoga Teacher Training at All That Matters in Wakefield, RI. It was by far one of the most healing and transformative experiences I’ve had to date, and I've been teaching ever since. I am drawn to yoga as a way to slow down, breathe, be in my body, and practice presence; and I endeavor to share the benefits of yoga with others while empowering my students to connect to their body, stay open and curious, and tap in to their body's deeper wisdom.
Julia will be teaching special 4-week yoga series sprinkled throughout the year. Stay tuned for these special offerings!
