Join us for a restorative and reflective evening as we celebrate the Fall Equinox with a Yin Yoga/Sound Immersion led by instructor, Karen Powers. The fall equinox marks a moment of balance between day and night, inviting us to reflect on the dualities in our lives — light and dark, activity and rest, outward energy and inward focus.
As the weather begins to cool and we move deeper into Fall, the practice of yin offers a perfect opportunity to turn inward, cultivate stillness and introspection. Coupled with an extended savasana in sound you’ll leave feeling refreshed, relaxed, and balanced.
Karen is a true master of her craft. She brings a sense of ease and peace in whatever space she holds. Share a gentle yin practice and experience the benefits of immersive sound from crystal and metal singing bowls, chimes, rain sticks, and other sound instruments.
Come together with us to honor this sacred time of year and deepen your sense of ease, flow, and harmony in the body.
WHAT TO BRING: There are some yoga props available but please plan to bring what you want/need to be comfortable for the evening: yoga mat, pillows or yoga bolsters/cushions, blankets, layers of clothing.

From her first yoga class, Karen found herself drawn to the spiritual and philosophical teachings of yoga. Her Yin classes offer students a chance to find a deeper connection with body and spirit through mindful stillness. Her other classes combine the styles of both Hatha and Prana Vinyasa Flow, encouraging students to find the fluidity in their bodies, allowing the sequences to flow like a beautiful dance of mind, body and spirit. As someone who found her way to yoga through a difficult time in her life, she offers more than just a physical practice, with the intention to help inspire and restore the well-being of all who join her on the mat.
Karen has 800 hours of yoga certification. She began practicing in 2009, received her 200-hour certification in Hatha Yoga with Katherine Conte at Focus Yoga in May 2011, and her 300-hour certification in Prana Flow with Coral Brown at Laughing Elephant Yoga in December 2014. In April of 2017 she completed a two-part Yin Yoga Immersion training with Jenn Thomas and Dr. Tracey M. Sondik at All That Matters Yoga and Health Center in Wakefield, RI. And in October 2019 she received another 300-hour certification in Yoga Beyond Asana with Jenn Thomas, Usha Bilotta and Linda Sparrow at All That Matters. In addition to yoga, she received Reiki training through Myra Partyka at All That Matters and is a certified at the Master level. More recently she received certification in the Foundations of Sound Healing through the Sunreed Center with with Zacchia Blackburn and Dorothy Stone in 2020 and certification in Levels 1 and 2 Biofied Tuning with Eileen McKusick in 2024.
